What is aydat and what is it eaten with?

No, no, it's not food at all, aydat in Turkish means contribution or collection.

Aidat is a compulsory maintenance fee for a house, apartment, villa, residential complex in North Cyprus. The fee is mandatory, it is fixed in the laws, so it is very important information before buying or renting a property in North Cyprus. The amount of aydat is usually specified in the contract, but every year it may increase by a fixed percentage, the amount of which is also specified in the contract.

Every year the companies make a report on the work done, expenditures and repair plans. At the end of these annual meetings, the main decision is whether the aydat will remain the same or needs to be increased in light of the additional costs required. 

What does the aydat go to?
