Climate in Northern Cyprus

Northern Cyprus remains hospitable all year round: in summer and autumn it welcomes you with a warm sea, in winter with educational tours, and in spring with bright colours.
We are always ready to give you a warm welcome and serve you with responsibility and professionalism.

The climatic and natural conditions of Northern Cyprus are conducive to maintaining good human immunity:

  • Iodine-rich sea air
  • Clean mountain air filled with the scent of flowering herbs
  • A gentle change of seasons
  • And also predominantly sunny 320-330 sunny days a year!

Summer in Cyprus- traditionally arrives in May, with thermometers reaching +40°C on particularly hot days. The air is dry and hot, making it an ideal place to treat the respiratory system from the city's constant dampness. Summer on the island lasts until the end of October, when tourists arrive and consider it the end of the velvet sea season. The bright sun, warm sea, cloudless skies and 40 degrees of heat during the day - that's summer on the island. There is almost no rain at this time of year, the humidity is 64% and the water in the sea warms up to +26 ... +28 ° C. The weather in Cyprus is wonderful, but by late June the greenery will start to fade, so the colour splendour that greeted holiday-makers in May will fade.

Autumn in Cyprus- The intense heat in September is gone, making it a perfect time for people who can't be exposed to the sun and heat, couples with children and senior citizens.
Plus you can see the sights and take a good look around Cyprus, something you can't do at other times of the year because of the intense heat. The natural beauty of the island is unmatched in the autumn - in September the vegetation of Cyprus starts to fade into green, which turned green in the summer during the hot weather. Exotic fruits and vegetables, such as the carob fruit (used as a sweet or as coffee by the locals), also begin to ripen. Ripe oranges and lemons seem to fall from the trees onto the heads of passers-by.

And winter in Cyprus is mild and short, with average thermometer readings of 18-20°C, though easily dropping below zero in the highlands. Generally speaking, Cyprus' winter climate invites excursions - explore ancient architecture and take a leisurely stroll past monuments from the early Christian era. Water temperatures range around +22°C during the peak season (July) and around 15°C in the coldest month (February). However, even at these temperatures some brave souls swim in the Mediterranean.

Springtime The natural splendour of North Cyprus is breathtaking and the flowery air is dizzying. The island blossoms as it recovers from its brief winter slumber and puts on its bright clothes. In March, temperatures reach +17°C, rainfall decreases and the sun reclaims more days. However, evenings can get quite chilly, so some warm clothing can come in handy. All in all, March offers all the vagaries of nature - from rain and winds to an unshakable calm during clear and sunny weather.

Whichever season you choose to visit, there's always something for everyone, as Northern Cyprus is an extraordinary mix of hot sun, warm sea and a rich historical past.
